OCEAN-BASED CLIMATE SOLUTIONS – Sanuk®

OCEAN-BASED CLIMATE SOLUTIONS – Sanuk®

With our friends at Surfrider, we’re asking Congress to pass Ocean-Based Climate Solutions legislation that can leverage the ocean’s potential in the fight against climate change by permanently protecting our coasts from offshore drilling, promoting offshore renewable energy, helping communities adapt to sea level rise, protecting blue carbon, supporting climate-ready fisheries, and expanding marine protected areas.

Why are we doing this and why should you care?

While the COVID-19 pandemic has taken center stage in our daily lives for a year now, the climate crisis has continued to wreak havoc on the natural environment, and increasingly, in ways that directly impact our communities. In 2020, climate change unleashed widespread wildfires, hurricanes, severe rains, oppressive heat waves and unusual weather, causing significant damage across the world.

Join us in pushing climate legislation forward!

You can join Sanuk and Surfrider in the fight against climate change by SENDING A MESSAGE TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES and demand that they take action by supporting Ocean Climate Solutions legislation— it only takes a moment and can be done right on your phone or computer.

How else you can support at-home:

Outside of supporting federal legislation, there are other ways to take action to reduce your carbon footprint right at home— check out our interview with Surfrider’s Coastal Preservation Manager, Stefanie Sekich-Quinn, for some simple tips HERE!
